Kayak With The Dolphins

Byron Bay Sea Kayak tours with Cape Byron Kayaks - The original kayak with the dolphins tour in Byron Bay!
Experience all the fun and adventure of a Cape Byron Kayaks guided tour. Feel the exhilaration as you paddle with the dolphins, the turtles and the whales that frequent the enticing waters of Byron Bay. Whether you are a novice or experienced kayaker, your adventure will include paddling our gorgeous Marine Park, the waves, the wilderness and morning or afternoon tea with Tim Tams on a beautiful beach.
Take in some of the best sights the East Coast has to offer. Learn about local history, aboriginal history, the lighthouse, dolphins, whales and turtles. See the Most Easterly Point of the Australian mainland. This is all part of your Byron Bay sea kayak experience with Cape Byron Kayaks.

See and learn these things and more while you paddle in your sea kayak around the famous Byron Bay marine reserve.

* Enjoy paddling your sea kayak out through the surf and later ride some of Australia’s most famous waves in Byron Bay.
* Get up close and personal with our friendly Bottlenose Dolphins and discover how inquisitive they can be.
* Spot Sea Turtles as they come up for a breath of air.
* Marvel at the size of the majestic Humpback Whales as they migrate through beautiful Byron Bay.
Pull into one of our pristine beaches for morning or afternoon tea which consists of: coffee, tea, Milo, water, and Tim Tams. This should be more than enough to get you back into the action!
Cape Byron Kayaks is Byron Bay’s original dolphin kayaking experience established in 1995. Our guides are kayakers, surfers, self proclaimed local historians and excellent watermen. They know Byron Bay well and are the best guides in the business.
With that in mind, you can relax and be guided around Byron Bay in our two person, sit-on-top-style sea kayaks, that are designed for ease of operation and stability. No prior experience is necessary. Your safety and enjoyment are our priorities.
We supply all safety gear: lifejackets, helmets, and wetsuits (if necessary) and free pick-up from your accommodation.
All you need for your Byron Bay sea kayaking experience is your sense of adventure, your bathers and some sun cream.
Kayak with the dolphins – Dolphin guarantee!
There are estimated to be around 1500 dolphins in the greater Byron Bay area, stretching from Brunswick Heads in the north to Ballina in the south. Byron Bay and its immediate waters are an important habitat for over 300 dolphins. These are called resident dolphins and will live in this area their entire lives. The species most commonly seen on our tours include inshore and offshore bottle nose dolphins, along with some Indo Pacific humpback dolphins and common dolphins.
We see dolphins on 90% of our tours and if you don’t see them you can come again another time for free!
Kayak with the whales
May to November is the season to get up close and personal with whales as they migrate past the most easterly point of the Australian mainland Byron Bay.
Cape Byron Kayaks have been operating sea kayak tours for the past 17years and every year the anticipation of Whale Season is almost too much to bear as there is no other experience quite as unique and exhilarating as sea kayaking alongside a whale.
During their northern migration, most whales come within 3 km of the NSW coast. During the southern migration Humpback whales bring their calves into the calm waters surrounding Cape Byron to rest and feed. The calves are very inquisitive and playful, they often approach our sea kayak tours with the mother at their side passing just meters from our kayaks.

Beenleigh Artisan Rum Distillery

Established in 1884 and located between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Beenleigh Artisan Distillery is the oldest registered continuously working distillery in Australia. Over 130 years later, we’re still making rum the traditional, "boutique" way, operating from our original heritage-listed stone building upon the banks of the Albert River at Eagleby. We are still exclusively sourcing Australia's finest molasses from the country's only remaining family-owned sugar mill, and still pot stilling using our original copper equipment. We then age every drop of our golden liquid gracefully in handmade oak brandy barrels to create Beenleigh's distinctive, luscious flavour and its velvety smooth finish. Making it perfect for sipping neat over ice. Like only a truly great rum can be.

Join us for a tour to learn about our history and the colourful people that have made the Beenleigh Artisan Distillery an iconic Queensland attraction. Understand how our master distillers craft quality award winning rums and sit back and enjoy the flavour, textures and aromas as part of the tasting experience where you will sample 7 products from the premium Beenleigh range.
